This week the Edukick players received yet another guest coaching session thanks to the PFA connection. Over the past two seasons now the Edukick players have been linked with the PFA as players on their coach education programmes. This has led t the likes of Michael Carrick, Kolo Toure, Quinton fortune to name a few coming along to the Edukick training ground to coach the boys as part of the course.
This week they have a guest session from current Blackpool FC Midfielder Danny Philliskirk. Danny is another one of the many professional players seeking out further coaching qualifications to extend their career in the game.
Danny, current number 17 for the tangerines, started his footballing career with Chelsea FC as a youngster. From there he had spells at Oxford, Sheffield United and Coventry before a settled spell with northwest side Oldham Athletic. Danny is now part of the Blackpool FC side but is looking to his future after playing and taking on his coaching qualifications.
Danny came to the Edukick training ground this week to work with the lads to gain valuable experience and have an assessment from the PFA coach educators. Having a discipline and coachable team is a real asset for these players who have to find time in their busy schedules to get the coaching hours in, and for the EduKick lads it’s a great experience to have a current professional in the training ground to share and pass on their experiences.
